Today Ahmed Hussen, Minister of IRCC boast about the Global Skills Strategy (GSS) launched one year ago, which gives Canadian employers fast and reliable access to top talent from the globe. “The goals of the GSS is to help get skilled temporary workers into Canada faster, so to propel businesses across our country forward.”
Statistics shows from June 2017 to March 2018, over 10,000 applications were processed and with a high 96% approval rate. And Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) facilitates the labour market impact assessment(LMIA) process for companies seeking unique talent using the Global Talent Stream. ESDC has committed to a 10 business day service standard for jobs in high demand, jobs offering high wages, and jobs with a short work duration – the types of workers Canada needs to grow industries across the country.
To be eligible for the Global Talent Stream, employer must either been referred by one of the Stream’s designated partners (Category A) OR you are seeking to hire highly-skilled foreign workers to fill positions in occupations found on the Global Talent Occupations List (Category B). You must pay $1,000 for each position requested under the Global Talent Stream.
