2018-08-10 CAPIC (Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants) representatives met with IRCC Minister Ahmed Hussen in Toronto. It is CAPIC’s continuous effort to advocate professionalism in the industry and increase RCICs working relationship with Immigration Canada.

Among the topics under discussion was the issue of unauthorized practitioners, self-regulation under federal statute (and how it would combat the UAP issue), and CAPIC’s upcoming NCIC in Calgary, to which the minister is invited.

Overall the meeting was a success, largely due to the cooperative attitude held by both parties. CAPIC plans to build on the strong relationship it has fostered with the department and the minister in future meetings.
